Some of you may not know……

I wanted to share with you somethings about me that some of you may not have known.

For more than 20 years, I was a pastor and shared the Good News of God’s Love and loved it. This was my life and calling, one which I accepted from a very young age. However, there was always a struggle in my life that I carried and tried for years to get free from and prayed for God to remove from my life. A prayer that God never answered, by the way. Because of this struggle in my life, I allowed what others thought about me and this struggle to keep me from the life and ministry that I was called and anointed to do.

Recently, I realized that I am not living my purpose because of what others think or might think and it has kept me from living a fulfilled and happy life. I have decided to make a change in my life and once again take up the calling in my life that God called me to before I was born. This is my purpose and I answer only to God for my life, for God is my judge and Savior.

This journey with its challenges and struggles have prepared me to minister to those who walk a similar path or who might also be allowing  themselves or others to keep them from God’s purpose for their lives.

I am thankful that God has revealed, himself to be much bigger than any religious idea or understanding to be. This has not been an easy decision, many have encouraged me for sometime ( Thanks Pastor Paul for all your encouragement) to do this, but I had lots to work through, before I could commit to the cost of following this path. I know it won’t be easy and I do not take it lightly.

I am unsure of how it will all unfold, but I have started with this blog and am allowing God to take the lead. I covet your prayers and encouragement. I believe this ministry “Reconnection To Christ” is about ministering to those who have been judged and hurt by the church, and helping them to reconnect with their spiritual lives. This includes LGBTQ people but is not limited to anyone. Religion and church has hurt a lot of people, but Christ heals and loves all!

  1. I have a saying by Ralph Waldo Emerson here in my house, painted on a piece of barn board, that says: “Let us be silent that we may hear the whisper of God”.
My eyes pass over it almost every day. And there are days when the whisper of God becomes a deafening roar! Especially when it is urging me towards a direction I am not willing to trust enough to take! But the whisper won’t leave. It is like watching drops of water falling on a rock. In time the rock breaks down, a little bit at a time, one drop by one drop. in God’s time…. I don’t think there is time, not as we understand it. It doesn’t matter that 20 years have passed. Your age doesn’t matter. It’s now that matters., and your willingness to take what you believe is God’s purpose for your life and make it happen!
I know all things work out for the greater good. The need is great. Your life experiences will give you compassion, understanding, and will let your caring and honesty shine through. I wish you all the best as you begin this journey. Isn’t it great that you aren’t traveling by yourself!!!
